In celebration of Mahashivratri on February 26, Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple will welcome devotees from across the nation for darshan of Baba Mahakal. To enhance the experience, the temple management committee has organized special arrangements, including the provision of falahari prasad in the free Annakshetra.
Annakshetra offers simple meals tailored to the season, serving dal-rice, plain roti, and vegetables during summer, while adjusting the menu for winter months.
Devotees can enjoy a special selection of falahari dishes
On Mahashivratri, devotees can enjoy a special selection of falahari dishes, including Sabudana Khichdi, Potato Chips, Aamti, and Sabudana Kheer. In addition, Annakshetra will also provide fruits for both visitors and the staff involved in the Mahashivratri preparations.
The newly constructed two-storey Annakshetra building, located near Mahalok Parking, significantly enhances the facilities for devotees, accommodating up to 5,000 people at once. Recently, food services have also been expanded to the second floor.
Passes for meals in Annakshetra can be obtained from counters situated within the temple grounds and at Mahakal Lok. Devotees can collect their passes and proceed to receive prasad. A dedicated team of 150 employees is available from 6 am to 10 pm to prepare, serve, and maintain cleanliness for the devotees.
