Assembly elections are to be held in West Bengal in 2026. All the parties have now turned towards West Bengal. Meanwhile, the ruling TMC has suffered a major setback.
The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) of the state has indicated to contest alone in the 2026 assembly elections. But this time Mamata Banerjee-led TMC, which is gearing up to contest the elections alone, has suffered a major political setback.
Former President late Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukherjee has left TMC and joined hands with Congress. Abhijit Mukherjee rejoined the Congress on Wednesday, February 12. In his statement after joining the Congress, he said that he is returning home. Can anyone stop him from doing so? Or will anyone stop him?
Abhijit also said in a light-hearted manner that it takes time to come to Kolkata from Delhi. He also said that it does not matter now what is the condition of the Congress party. Regarding leaving the Congress and joining the TMC, Abhijit said that he had gone to the TMC due to personal reasons.
However, Abhijit Mukherjee said that he does not want to disclose those reasons. He also made it clear that whatever responsibility is given to him in the party, he will fulfill it. We are people who carry forward the order. We will follow the order, he said. The leaders associated with the party's West Bengal state unit had already confirmed Abhijit Mukherjee's return to the Congress.
