Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while tagging Air India on Facebook, has complained about the broken seat given to him to sit on during the journey in the plane in a post on Saturday.
He wrote, "Today I had to come from Bhopal to Delhi, inaugurate the Kisan Mela in Pusa. I have a meeting of Natural Farming Mission in Kurukshetra and have to hold talks with the honorable representatives of the farmers' organizations in Chandigarh."
"I had booked a ticket in Air India flight AI 436. I was allotted seat number 8-C. I went and sat on the seat. The seat was broken and sunken, it was painful to sit."
The Union Minister wrote, "When I asked the aircrew that the seat was bad, then why was it allotted to me? He said that the management was informed earlier that this seat is not good. Its ticket should not be sold. There are not just one but many such seats."
"Co-passengers urged me a lot to change the seat and sit on a better seat, but why should I trouble another friend for my comfort? I decided that I will complete my journey sitting on this seat."
Shivraj wrote further, "I had the impression that Air India's service would have improved after TATA management took it over, but it turned out to be my misconception. I dop not bother about the discomfort in sitting, but after charging full money from the passengers, making them sit on a bad and uncomfortable seat is unethical."
"Isn't this cheating the passengers? Will the Air India management take steps to ensure that no passenger faces such trouble in future or will it continue to take advantage of the passengers' compulsion to reach early."
