Arrests Made in Case of Video Recordings of Women at Maha Kumbh and Hospitals: What Police Told?

The Gujarat Police achieved a major breakthrough in the case involving the unauthorized recording of women bathing and changing clothes at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025 and the subsequent sale of these videos on social media.

On Friday, three suspects, including a YouTuber, were arrested for their involvement in this illicit activity. These people allegedly uploaded videos of women to platforms such as Telegram and YouTube.

Accused have hacked CCTV cameras of about 60 to 70 hospitals

Authorities suspect that the accused have hacked the CCTV cameras of about 60 to 70 hospitals across the country, leaking videos of women's medical checkups in gynecological examination rooms. During the investigation, police uncovered objectionable footage of women in their possession.

A news report highlighted that the privacy of women seeking treatment and childbirth in hospitals in Gujarat has been compromised. Many Telegram groups have been identified where inappropriate videos of women's medical examinations have been shared.

The Gujarat Police are actively investigating this matter. In connection with this case, two suspects were previously arrested in Maharashtra. Following their interrogation, YouTuber Chandraprakash Phool Chand from Prayagraj was also apprehended. His channel featured 55 to 60 videos from the Maha Kumbh.

Had sold videos of women bathing at the Maha Kumbh to other channels

The arrested suspects include Prajwal Ashok Teli from Latur, Maharashtra, and Praj Rajendra Patil from Sangli. According to Ahmedabad Cyber Crime DCP Lavina Sinha, the investigation revealed that the three people had sold videos of women bathing at the Maha Kumbh to other channels.

Chandraprakash Phool Chand created the videos himself, uploading them to his channel and selling them online. He reportedly has over 100 subscribers on his Telegram channel, where he operated a business selling these videos at high prices.

Accused were stealing footage by hacking CCTV systems of hospital

Police investigations indicated that the accused were stealing footage by hacking the CCTV systems of Payal Hospital in Gujarat, profiting significantly from the sale of these videos on social media platforms. The Crime Branch of Ahmedabad suspects that CCTVs in 60 to 70 hospitals have been compromised.

In Prayagraj, UP DGP Prashant Kumar clarified that the videos at Mahakumbh were made surreptitiously, not through hacked CCTV, but by physically being present. Three cases have been filed for the unauthorized uploading of videos featuring women bathing and changing clothes. DGP Kumar affirmed that efforts are underway to identify all involved parties, and strict legal action will be pursued against them.
