What Kapil Sibal Said INDIA Alliance Should Do for Future Electoral Success

Senior lawyer and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has made a big statement on Tuesday following the opposition alliance India Block's recent assembly election defeats. He said the alliance should come together and strategize effectively to improve their performance.

Reflecting on the Congress party, Sibal said that while the party strives for consensus and collaboration, challenges can arise. He referred to the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, where Congress's lackluster performance hindered the 'Mahagathbandhan' from achieving a majority.

In remarks to reporters, Sibal acknowledged that while the Congress party aims to work together, issues do occur. He pointed out that in the last Bihar elections, despite being allocated seats, Congress was unable to secure wins, which led the RJD to claim that their inability to form a government stemmed from Congress's shortcomings. He stressed the importance of the India Alliance parties coming together to decide their electoral strategies.

Sibal said the BJP's recent victories in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Haryana could be attributed to their unified command structure that allows for cohesive campaigning. He said that in states like Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Congress benefited from contesting elections in alliance.

Furthermore, Sibal reiterated Sharad Pawar's assertion that the India Alliance is a national coalition, applicable primarily during Lok Sabha elections rather than regional polls. He emphasized the need for dialogue among all partners in the alliance, as regional parties seek to expand their influence beyond state borders while national parties aim to maintain their presence.
