Why Did BJP Issue Show Cause Notice to Anil Vij, What Remarks He Made Against CM Nayab Singh Saini and Mohan Lal Badoli

The BJP has issued a show cause notice to Haryana Minister Anil Vij for making  statements against Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli. The party has demanded a written response from Vij within three days.

The notice comes after Vij repeatedly targeted both leaders, particularly after an FIR was filed against Badoli for gang rape in Himachal Pradesh. Vij had publicly called for Badoli’s resignation twice in the last two months.

Vij demanded Badoli’s Resignation

Vij made first Statement against Badoli on (\January 18. Following the FIR against Badoli on January 14, Vij demanded his resignation, stating that while Badoli claims innocence, he should step down until the investigation is complete to uphold the party’s integrity.

On February 2 in Gohana, Sonipat, Vij reiterated his demand, questioning how a leader accused under IPC Section 376D (gang rape) could continue to hold meetings, especially with women.

Vij targeted CM Saini

Vij has also been vocal against CM Saini. On January 31 in Ambala, he accused certain leaders and officials of attempting to defeat him in elections and claimed that no action was taken despite his complaints. He further criticized Saini, saying, “Ever since he became CM, he has been on a helicopter.”

BJP issues notice

The show cause notice, sent by state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, states: "Your statements have harmed the party’s image, especially during the elections in Delhi. This is completely unacceptable. As per the National President’s instructions, you are required to provide a written explanation within three days."

According to Vij's PA Abhikant Vats, Anil Vij traveled to Bengaluru on February 9 for important work and is expected to return on February 11 at 6:30 PM.

The situation highlights growing tensions within the Haryana BJP, with Vij’s outspoken criticism leading to disciplinary action from the party leadership.
