Trump announces 100% tariff on Indian goods, what he said on illegal immigrants, Ukraine war and Gold Visa?



US President Donald Trump addressed a joint session of the US Parliament for the first time since his re-election. In this speech, he announced the implementation of tit-for-tat tariffs on India starting April 2, stating that India imposes tariffs exceeding 100% on US goods, and the US will reciprocate.


The address took place on Wednesday morning (Indian time) and lasted a record 1 hour and 44 minutes, surpassing his previous tenure's speech duration of 1 hour.


Trump opened his speech with the phrase "America is back," emphasizing the return of the nation's prominence. He claimed that in just 43 days of his presidency, he has achieved what many governments could not accomplish in their full terms.


Trump said the new tariffs will take effect on April 2, aimed at countries that impose heavy tariffs on US goods. Companies that do not manufacture products in America will be subject to these tariffs.


Regarding Ukraine War, Trump stated that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is prepared to engage in talks to resolve the ongoing conflict, citing positive signals from Russia regarding peace discussions.


Largest crackdown on illegal immigrants


On immigration issue, he said that 21 million people have entered the US illegally in the past four years and announced the initiation of the largest crackdown on border and immigration violations in US history.


Trump labeled Biden as the worst president in American history, attributing the rise in illegal immigration and inflation to his policies.


Gold Card Visa


Trump said the introduction of a new Gold Card Visa system was announced, which is designed to be an advanced version of the green card, aimed at job creation and benefiting businesses.


Trump expressed intentions to gain control of the Panama Canal and annex Greenland, assuring protection for the people living there.


He praised Elon Musk's Department of Government Exposés (DoGE) for unveiling scandals from the previous federal administration.


Eliminated govt censorship


Trump claimed to have eliminated government censorship, restoring free speech in America by dismantling governmental structures used to suppress it.


He emphasized that the US possesses more oil and gas than any other nation and announced plans for a significant natural gas pipeline in Alaska, attracting foreign investment.


Trump declared ambitions to advance the US space program, aiming for human exploration of Mars and the establishment of a powerful civilization.
