What BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar Said Regarding Sambhal CO's Remarks on Holi Celebrations?

A controversial statement has been made by BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar, who represents Ghaziabad's Loni assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Following the Holi Milan ceremony held in Baghpat's Bhagout village, he defended the remarks of Sambhal's Circle Officer during a media conversation. He said, "Holi is a festival that is celebrated together. If someone is afraid of their faith being compromised by the application of colors, then they should not leave the house on the day of the festival."

The statement made by Sambhal's Circle Officer, Anuj Chaudhary, has garnered attention. He said that Holi and the second Friday of Ramadan will fall on the same day, March 14, and remarked, "Whoever feels their religion is being corrupted by the application of Holi colors should not leave the house on that day."

Cong MP Imran Masood slams CO's statement

On the other hand, Congress MP Imran Masood has slammed Sambhal CO's statement. He expressed concerns about maintaining harmony when police officers make such statements. He questioned, "From whom should we expect harmony? Action should be taken against the officer who made such a statement."

Masood said that while the Circle Officer is correct that Friday occurs 52 times a year and Holi only once, he could have said this in a more civilized manner. He criticized the CO's language and style, asking, "What are you trying to convey through this? Why spread hatred?"

He described the CO's statement as unfortunate, emphasizing that the police should take action against people who make such remarks. Additionally, the MP slammed the central government, stating that the country is on the verge of becoming destitute, with declining production leading to a situation where people may be left with nothing.
