Will Rs 2500 come into accounts of women of Delhi on Women's Day? Govt preparing eligibility criterion


New Delhi: Good news may come tomorrow for BPL cardholder women in Delhi. According to sources, Delhi's CM Rekha Gupta can release the first installment of the 'Mahila Samman Nidhi' scheme tomorrow i.e. Saturday (March 8) on the occasion of International Women's Day.


Before this, a cabinet meeting has been called to give formal approval to this scheme. After the cabinet's approval, it will be formally announced at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Under the scheme, there is a plan to provide financial assistance to BPL cardholder women.


Govt is preparing eligibility criteria 


The government is preparing eligibility criteria to give the benefit of the scheme to women. Women whose annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh will get the benefit of this scheme. BPL cardholder women will be included in the first phase. Women who are already getting any government pension will not get the benefit of this scheme. Along with this, women doing government jobs have also been excluded from this scheme.


Free gas cylinder on Holi under Ujjwala Yojana?


Sources say that in Saturday's cabinet meeting, the proposal to give free gas cylinder on Holi under the Ujjwala scheme can also be approved. BJP had promised to provide financial help to poor and needy women in its Sankalp Patra. Now all eyes are on the cabinet meeting to be held tomorrow and the announcement to be made at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.


Work is going on at a fast pace to implement Mahila Samridhi Yojana


According to sources, work is going on at a fast pace to implement this scheme. Soon the cabinet note will be prepared and it will be placed for cabinet approval. For this, the government is working to collect data from various departments. Also, the IT department is also developing a separate software, through which the work of verifying all the application forms will be completed, so that eligible women can be identified correctly.
