Zelensky-Trump confrontation: Will US completely halt all aid to Ukraine?

A heated discussion occurred between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office at the White House. Following this confrontation, the US administration decided to expedite the investigation into potential corruption and misuse of aid being provided to Ukraine.

According to a report from a senior US official, Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency were already examining irregularities in the economic and military assistance given to Ukraine, but this process will now be accelerated. The official said that several flaws have already been uncovered, and Trump is contemplating a complete halt to all military aid to Ukraine.

During the meeting, significant differences arose between Trump and Zelensky regarding measures to end the Russia-Ukraine war, which heightened the tension in their discussions. Trump accused Zelensky of rude behavior, while Zelensky expressed skepticism about the commitments of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This confrontation led Trump to terminate the meeting prematurely, asking Zelensky to leave the White House.

Musk hints at an investigation into the matte

In the aftermath of this meeting, Elon Musk hinted at an investigation into the matter. He posted on the social media platform X, suggesting that it is time to understand where and how the hundreds of billions of dollars sent to Ukraine were actually spent.

Despite the tensions, Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support from the US and its people, stating that Ukraine is working towards establishing a just and lasting peace. Conversely, Trump alleged that Zelensky insulted the US during their meeting and asserted that Ukraine would only have the opportunity to negotiate again when it is ready for peace. In light of these developments, countries such as Germany, France, and Poland have reaffirmed their support for Ukraine.
