An exciting news has come for WhatsApp users. The company has released a new update to improve the voice and video calling experience. This update is currently available in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.25.10.16 version, which has been seen on Google Play Store. WABetaInfo has also shared a screenshot with the information about this new update, in which three major changes can be clearly seen.
Mute button
The biggest change has been seen in the incoming call screen. Now before receiving the call, users will get the option of 'Mute' button, which will be present between 'Decline' and 'Answer'. With the help of this button, users can mute their microphone while receiving the call. This feature will prove to be very useful in situations when you want to pick up the call but do not want to talk immediately.
Turn off the camera before receiving video call
The second big update is regarding video calling. Now users will be able to turn off their camera even before receiving the video call. Earlier, one had to pick up the call to turn off the camera, which made it inconvenient in case of calls from unknown or unwanted numbers. With the arrival of this new feature, the privacy and security of users will be strengthened even more.
Emoji reactions will be fun in video calls
WhatsApp has now also added the emoji reaction feature for video calls. With this, users can give their reaction by sending emojis in real time, making the video calling experience even more interactive and fun. This feature will be very useful especially in group calls. For example, if you agree with something, you can send a 'thumbs up' emoji.
At present, this feature has been released for beta users. After the beta testing is successful, it will be rolled out in a stable version for global users.
