First AI Made Movie Set to Be Released on the Big Screen: Has a New Era in Cinema Begun?

First AI Made Movie: 'The Wizard of Oz' is a Hollywood film that was released in 1939. It is one of the first color films. Google and Magnopus Studio have recreated it with the help of AI, and it will be screened in June-July at the Sphere Theater in Las Vegas.

Google, based in New York, and Magnopus Studio, located in California, have jointly created this project. The decision to remake this film was made by Sphere Entertainment Company. The responsibility for the AI production of the film was given to Google and Magnopus Studio, with Google handling technical aspects while Magnopus was responsible for the content and presentation of the film.

It will be a special experience

Although the film is old, it is being made in a new style. Many of the original actors are no longer with us, but when the audience sees them live on screen once again, it will be a special experience. The characters have been rendered so realistically that viewers may not realize it was made with the help of AI.

AI models have been utilized in place of traditional VFX in the film, and this will be the first time the names of AI engineers and software developers will appear at the end of the film instead of VFX artists and editors. This marks a significant shift in the film industry.

Unique viewing experience

The production of this film began two years ago, and it will be shown at the Las Vegas Sphere Theater, which resembles a globe from the outside and is designed to look like Earth. Inside, there are screens all around, creating a unique viewing experience, as the 360-degree screen enhances the visual presentation.

Working with AI is much more cost-effective than traditional VFX. This advancement is expected to be beneficial for the cinema industry in the future, and it is clear which direction the industry is heading.
