J&K: Omar Abdullah said this about exodus of tourists from the valley after Pahalgam attack


Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed grief over the demand of tourists to leave the Kashmir Valley In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam.


He wrote, "It is heartbreaking to see our guests leaving the valley after the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam yesterday, but at the same time we also completely understand why people want to leave the valley."


"However, DGCA and the Ministry of Civil Aviation are busy arranging additional flights."


Omar Abdullah has given instructions to facilitate traffic between Srinagar and Jammu so that tourist vehicles can leave the valley.


He also said that at this time the movement of vehicles is not allowed in the valley.


Four special flights arranged 


Meanwhile, Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu has moved swiftly to ensure the safety and well-being of affected tourists and victims.


As part of immediate relief measures, four special flights from Srinagar—two to Delhi and two to Mumbai—have been arranged, with additional flights kept on standby to cater to further evacuation needs.


Airlines directed to maintain regular fare levels


Ram Mohan Naidu also held an urgent meeting with all airline operators and issued a strong advisory against surge pricing. Airlines have been directed to maintain regular fare levels, ensuring that no passenger is burdened during this sensitive time.


Additionally, Ram Mohan Naidu has directed all airlines to extend full cooperation for the transportation of deceased individuals to their respective home states, working in sync with state governments and local authorities.


The Ministry of Civil Aviation remains on high alert and committed to extending every possible assistance to those affected.
