Kedarnath Doli Yatra 2025: How Much Do You Know About This Sacred Journey?

Kedarnath Doli Yatra 2025: The Char Dham Yatra-2025 is set to commence from Uttarakhand on April 30, 2025. This pilgrimage includes visits to the four Dhams: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, each holding its own significance. Kedarnath Dham is particularly revered as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, where the wishes of devotees are believed to be fulfilled.

Among the various traditions associated with Kedarnath Dham, the Kedarnath Doli Yatra stands out. This special tradition takes place when the doors of the temple open on May 2, 2025

Prior to this, Baba Bhairav Nath is worshipped, and the Panchmukhi Doli of Kedarnath Baba is transported from Ukhimath to Kedarnath Dham. The following day, the temple doors are opened for devotees after the completion of all rituals.

According to tradition, when the doors of Kedarnath temple are closed, the idol of Baba Kedar is enshrined at the Gaddi Sthal, Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, for the next six months. The Panchmukhi Doli, which translates to "Doli with five faces," carries the silver Bhog idol of Baba Kedar.

Bhog idol remains at Omkareshwar Temple during winter months

During the winter months, the Bhog idol remains at Omkareshwar Temple, and upon the opening of the Kedarnath Dham doors, it is brought back to the temple in the Panchmukhi Doli. The idol is then worshipped at Kedarnath Dham for six months.

In 2025, the Char Dham Yatra will begin on April 30, with the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri opening on the same day. The Kedarnath Dham doors will open on May 2, followed by Badrinath on May 4.
