Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijaya Singh has filed a complaint against Yoga Guru Ramdev in the police. He has sought to register an FIR against Ramdev in TT Nagar police station of Bhopal.
While talking to the media, he said that Ramdev has made such a comment to promote his products, which has hurt the religious sentiments of the people.
Digvijaya Singh said, "An FIR should be registered against the person who has given this statement under the existing law. I will wait, if action is not taken, then I will knock the door of the court."
A video of Yoga Guru Ramdev has been viral on social media for the past several days. Ramdev is seen saying in the viral video, "Just like love jihad, vote jihad is going on, Sharbat jihad is also going on."
Ramdev had commented on a reputed sherbet brand some time ago to promote one of his sherbets. Ramdev had said that the brand is doing 'Sharbat Jihad' and buying this brand will lead to the construction of mosques and madrasas in the country.
'Ramdev has tried to create communal tension'
Digvijaya Singh said, "Ramdev has tried to create communal tension. BJP and RSS are spreading hatred in the society in the name of religion. Ramdev is furthering the agenda of BJP."
He called it 'hate speech' and said that the company of the brand Ramdev is talking about has been making Ayurvedic and Unani products in the country for decades.
Digvijaya Singh said that Ramdev is attacking the company because its owner is a Muslim.
On the other hand, the police say that they have received a complaint and the investigation of the case is going on. Police said further action will be taken based on the basis of investigation.
