Offers Prayers to Maa Narmada in Dharampuri
CM Mohan Yadav, accompanied by public representatives, visited the holy Narmada River in Dharampuri and performed rituals on its banks. Dharampuri, a town located along the Narmada, is home to an island known as Bent, situated between two streams of the river. On this island stands the ancient temple of Shri Bilvamriteshwar Mahadev.
CM Mohan Yadav offered prayers and performed the abhishek of Lord Shiva at the temple. He also paid homage at the nearby statue of Maharishi Dadhichi, believed to mark the sage’s place of penance and final resting site.
As per mythology, it was at this sacred spot that Lord Indra approached Maharishi Dadhichi to seek his bones for the creation of a weapon to defeat a demon. Dr. Yadav instructed officials to ensure the comprehensive protection and preservation of the Shri Bilvamriteshwar Mahadev Temple and the Bent island.
