After former Chief Election Commissioner SY Qureshi's post on X regarding Waqf Act, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has made several allegations against him.
Nishikant Dubey posted on social media platform X and wrote, "You were not Election Commissioner, but Muslim Commissioner. Maximum Bangladeshi infiltrators were made voters in Jharkhand's Santhal Pargana during your tenure."
Nishikant Dubey further wrote, "Prophet Muhammad's Islam came to India in 712. Prior to that, this land belonged to Hindus or tribals, Jains or Buddhists associated with their faith. My village Vikramshila was burnt by Bakhtiar Khilji in 1189. Vikramshila University gave the world its first Vice Chancellor Atish Dipankar. Unite this country, read history, Pakistan was created by dividing it. Now there will be no partition."
Nishikant Dubey has given this statement at a time when there is a controversy over his statement on the Supreme Court and Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna.
He has not yet given any clarification regarding these statements.
SY Qureshi had recently posted on X that the Waqf Act is an open and malicious plan of the government, which aims to occupy the lands of the Muslim community. I am confident that the Supreme Court will definitely take cognizance of this, Qureshi wrote..
What did Nishikant Dubey say about the Supreme Court?
BJP MP from Godda, Jharkhand, Nishikant Dubey had said, "The Supreme Court is responsible for inciting religious war in the country. The Supreme Court is going beyond its limits. If we have to go to the Supreme Court for everything, then Parliament and Assembly have no meaning, they should be closed."
Along with this, he said, "Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna sahab is responsible for all the civil wars happening in this country."
BJP distances itself from Dubey's statement
However, BJP president J P Nadda said the BJP “completely rejected” these remarks and asked the MP to refrain from making such comments.
Taking to the micro-blogging site X, Nadda wrote, "The statements made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma regarding the judiciary and the Chief Justice of the country have no connection whatsoever with the Bharatiya Janata Party. These are their personal statements, but the BJP neither agrees with such statements nor ever endorses them. The BJP outrightly rejects these statements."
"The Bharatiya Janata Party has always respected the judiciary, wholeheartedly accepting its orders and suggestions, as we, as a party, believe that the Supreme Court, along with all other courts in the country, is an integral part of our democracy and a strong pillar in safeguarding the Constitution. I have directed both of them, and everyone else, to refrain from making such statements," he added.
