PM Modi Cuts Short Saudi Arabia Tour, Returns to Delhi Amid J&K Pahalgam Terror Attack, Convenes Emergency Meeting


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India, cutting short his tour of Saudi Arabia following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi departed for the two-day visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.


In response to the terrorist attack, PM Modi stated that 'those responsible for the attack will not be spared.' Upon his arrival in Delhi, he convened an emergency briefing meeting to assess the situation.


Discussions regarding the incident were held with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also arrived in Kashmir in light of the events.


The attack on tourists in Pahalgam occurred on Tuesday, where terrorists opened fire, resulting in the deaths of over 20 individuals.


Security tightened from J&K to Delhi


In the aftermath of the attack, security has been tightened from the valley to Delhi. Officials indicated that these precautions are necessary to ensure public safety. The Delhi Police have increased security across the city, with strict checks and monitoring, particularly at tourist sites and city borders, to swiftly identify any suspicious activity.


In the valley, security personnel are conducting vehicle searches at various locations, and extensive barricading has been implemented on the roads. Reports and images of protests against the attack have emerged from several areas in Jammu and Kashmir, with residents in Pahalgam expressing their outrage through candlelight marches.
