Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Srinagar on Friday and met the people injured in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
After this, Rahul Gandhi met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and discussed the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
Extremists attacked Pahalgam on Tuesday. 26 people were killed and many were injured in this.
After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi while talking to the journalists said, "This is a terrible tragedy. I have come here to know the situation and help. All the people of Jammu and Kashmir have condemned this terrible attack and they are with the nation at this time. I have met one of the injured people. My sympathies are with all those who have lost their family members. I want to tell everyone that the whole nation stands with them."
Rahul Gandhi said, "Yesterday (on 24 April) we had a meeting with the government and the entire opposition condemned this attack. We have given full support to any action taken by the government. The idea behind whatever has happened is to divide the society, there is a conspiracy to make brother fight with brother. In such a situation, it is necessary that every Indian unites and thwarts the nefarious designs of the terrorists."
Rahul said that it is sad that some people are attacking our brothers and sisters in Kashmir and the rest of the country. We have to unite and defeat terrorism at this time. We have to stand united and together to fight this heinous act and defeat terrorism forever.
Rahul Gandhi said, "I also met the Chief Minister and the Lieutenant Governor. They informed me about the incident. I have assured both of them that I and our party will fully support them."
Posting the picture of Rahul Gandhi meeting the injured on Instagram, Congress wrote, "Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi met the injured people and the victim families in the Pahalgam attack. The terrorist incident in Pahalgam is an attack on humanity, a shameful attempt to erase love and brotherhood. We are all united against terror. Together we have to give a befitting reply to these hateful forces."
