Bhopal: India is at a turning point in history: PM Modi at Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan

Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday cited several examples of women's strength and valour and said that the country is currently at a turning point in history where we have to work at every level of security, strength and culture and women and daughters will play an important role in this work.

PM Modi addressed the Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Vishnudutt Sharma were also present on the occasion.

Modi said, "India is at a turning point in history where we have to work at every level of security, strength and culture. We have to increase our hard work. In this, the role of our mother power, daughters and sisters is very big."

Taking the names of Devi Ahilyabai, Rani Lakshmibai, Rani Durgavati, Rani Kamlapati, Rani Avantibai Lodhi, Savitribai Phule and other great women, he said that their names and work fill us with pride.

Daughters of BSF were taking charge on the borders

PM Modi said that recently during Operation Sindoor, the Border Security Force (BSF) played a big role. The “daughters” of BSF were taking charge on the borders. They were giving a befitting reply to the firing from across the border. These brave daughters have shown amazing courage.

The Prime Minister said that today the world is seeing the capability of India's daughters in national defense. In the past years, the government has taken many steps in the interest of women and daughters. From school to the battlefield, the country is proud of the bravery of its daughters. Doors have been opened in the army for daughters. There was once 25 percent women in NCC and now this share is increasing to 50 percent.

A new history was made

Modi said that a new history was made yesterday when the first batch of women passed out from the National Defence Academy (NDA). Now daughters are being deployed on the front lines in all three forces. Women officers are also being deployed on the Navy's warship.

The Prime Minister also gave the example of two brave daughters of the Navy and said that they stayed in the sea for about 250 days and travelled thousands of miles around the world. They travelled in a boat that runs not on a motor but on air. He said that the storm in the sea is very strong. But these two daughters defeated every difficulty and achieved their goal. These daughters have taught that no matter how big the challenge is, India's daughters can overcome it.

PM Modi said that whether it is the areas of conflict with Naxalites or terrorism across the border, our daughters are becoming India's shield in all these. He said, "From this land of Devi Ahilyabai, I salute the daughters and women. Devi Ahilya worked with development and heritage together, which is what today's government is doing."
