The number of corona cases in Singapore was 11,110 in the last week of April, which has increased to 14,200 in the first week of May. There has been an increase of 28% in cases here.
At the same time, the number of patients admitted to hospitals on a daily basis has increased by 30%.
The death toll has also increased due to patients suffering from serious diseases getting infected with Covid.
Health officials have warned that the epidemic can once again take a terrible form and its effect can be seen in the rest of Asia as well.
According to Albert Au, health officer for infectious diseases in Hong Kong, cases of coronavirus are increasing very rapidly. He stated that the likelihood of patients with breathing problems testing positive for COVID-19 has reached a high for this year.
China and Thailand also on alert
Governments in China and Thailand are also on alert regarding COVID-19. In China, the number of coronavirus cases detected in patients undergoing health check-ups has doubled. People are being told to receive booster shots. Data from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that the wave of COVID-19 may intensify soon.
Simultaneously, there has been a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in two different regions of Thailand, with reports of two cluster outbreaks.
