Delhi Covid Case: Corona patients confirmed in Delhi-NCR; see latest updates

The new variant of Corona JN.1 has now knocked in Delhi NCR as well. The Health Department has appealed to the people to follow the Covid protocol and get tested immediately if they find symptoms.

The Corona epidemic has started spreading again in the country. After Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, the new variant of Corona JN.1 has now knocked in Delhi NCR as well. According to the official website of the Government of India, 5 patients suffering from JN.1 have been identified in Delhi. 

The Health Department has sent the samples of the patients for testing. Also, the patients have been quarantined. On the other hand, Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh says that till yesterday a total of 23 Covid cases have been reported in Delhi.

Health Minister Pankaj Singh said that the Delhi government is currently confirming whether these patients are from Delhi or have come from outside. In terms of preparations, we have already coordinated with all the medical superintendents, doctors and their teams. The Delhi government is fully prepared to deal with any situation and there is no need for the public to panic. 

2 test positive in Gurugram

According to media reports, two patients have been confirmed to have corona virus in Gurugram, a city in Haryana, which is included in NCR. The 31-year-old woman had gone to Mumbai, the virus infection was confirmed on her return. At the same time, a 62-year-old man has also been quarantined after confirmation of corona.

Youth found infected in Faridabad

On the other hand, a 28-year-old youth from a village in Palla area of ​​Faridabad was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after complaining of cold and cough. After investigation here, he was found to be corona infected. The health department has appealed to the people to wear masks, maintain social distancing and take care of cleanliness instead of panicking.

Gurugram Health Officer Dr. JP Rajliwal says that if any patient feels symptoms of corona, then precautionary measures should be taken immediately and testing should be done so that treatment can start on time.

How dangerous is the JN.1 variant of Corona?

The JN.1 variant is a sub-variant of Omicron BA.2.86. It was first detected in August 2023. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, this variant has one or two extra mutations, which make it more contagious than other variants. This variant spreads through airborne droplets, close contact in crowded places, and contaminated surfaces. 

For whom is the new variant dangerous?

The symptoms of the JN.1 variant are similar to those of the Delta and Omicron variants of Covid-19, but some new symptoms have also emerged. According to experts, ignoring these symptoms can be dangerous. In such a situation, people with weak immunity, the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease need to take special care.
