If you have not updated your Aadhaar card details in the last 10 years, then this news is very important for you. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has given a golden opportunity to Aadhaar holders to update for free, the last date for which has been fixed as 14 June 2025.\
Aadhaar update is necessary every 10 years
According to Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Regulation, 2016, it is mandatory for Aadhaar holders to update their identity and address certificate every 10 years. After June 14, 2025, this service will not be free and for this a fee of Rs 50 will have to be paid or you will have to go to the nearest Aadhaar center.
How to update for free? Know the easy way
If you want to take advantage of this facility, then you can update online from myAadhaar portal without any charge. The process is as follows:
Go to the browser and open the site: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
Login – Enter Aadhaar number, fill captcha and login with OTP.
Click on the ‘Document Update’ option appearing on the top right.
Select the documents you want to update from the dropdown – such as identity card or address proof.
Upload a file of less than 2MB size in JPEG, PNG or PDF format.
Review the details and submit.
You will get a Service Request Number (SRN) from which you can track the status.
Biometrics update? Know how
If you want to update your photo, fingerprint or biometric details, then for this you will have to go to the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center as these details cannot be updated online.
