Farmers have expressed their anger over the alleged scuffle with Bharatiya Kisan Union national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. During the scuffle, Tikait's turban also fell.
A Mahapanchayat has been organized on Saturday in the grounds of Government Inter College, Muzaffarnagar regarding this matter. The Bharatiya Kisan Union has named this Mahapanchayat as Emergency Kisan Mahapanchayat.
BKU leader Charan Singh, son of Bharatiya Kisan Union national president Naresh Tikait, told media that a rally was organized in Muzaffarnagar on Friday in protest against the Pahalgam attack. People of some such organization were present in this rally who jostled with Rakesh Tikait. In this scuffle his turban also fell off. This is a matter of honor and prestige of the farmers. This emergency Mahapanchayat meeting has been called for this. Farmers have arrived from many states.
Farmer leaders have claimed that farmers have arrived in this Mahapanchayat from Delhi, UP, Haryana, Rajasthan and many other states.
Anti-social elements are being identified: SP
Muzaffarnagar police has registered a case in this matter. Muzaffarnagar SP City Satyanarayan Prajapat told the media, "On May 2, a public anger rally was organized in Muzaffarnagar district. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait ji had reached this rally, where some anti-social elements indulged in sloganeering, hooting, pushing and shoving. In this regard, a case has been registered at Kotwali Nagar police station on the complaint of the district president of BKU. Anti-social elements are being identified on the basis of CCTV and video. A person has also been taken into police custody in the case of Rakesh Tikait's turban falling off his head after being pushed."
On the other hand, a person named Saurabh, who was caught, told the media that Tikait’s turban fell off accidentally due to the push.
