Omar Abdullah expresses grief
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that an officer has died in shelling from Pakistan.
He posted on social media platform X, "Sad news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service. Just yesterday he was in the district with the Deputy CM and attended the online meeting chaired by me."
Omar Abdullah said that firing is being done in Rajouri city from Pakistan.
He wrote, "Rajouri city was targeted in shelling from Pakistan today. During this, the house of Additional District Development Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa came under target and he died in the attack."
Aerial attack is also going on in Jammu city. Many buildings have been damaged.
Red alert issued
There is a red alert in Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts adjoining the Pakistan border. An air strike has been warned in Chandigarh and Ambala.
A red alert has been issued in the Naal town of Bikaner. The administration has closed all the shops. Complete lockdown has been done. People have been asked to stay in homes. Naal has an airbase. Here on the night of 7-8 May, Pakistan tried a missile attack, which was thwarted by India.
