Pakistan attacks with drones and missiles in J&K, other states, foiled by Indian Army

Pakistan attacked with drones and missiles for the second consecutive day on Friday. The attacks were foiled by the Indian Army. Soon after the Friday evening, firing started in 6 sectors of Jammu and Kashmir - Uri, Tangdhar, Keran, Mendhar, Nowgam, RS Pura, Arnia and Poonch.


After 8:30 pm, Pakistan carried out drone attacks on 20 cities in 4 states - Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Punjab. Srinagar airport was also attacked.


Drone attack on Awantipora Air Force Station was foiled. A big explosion was heard here. Meanwhile, a warning of air strike has been issued in Chandigarh and Ambala. Meanwhile, President Trump has said that the tension between the two countries should end as soon as possible.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
