IPL Governing Council members and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials discussed the plan to restart the league on Sunday. It is being told that now the final will be held in Ahmedabad instead of Kolkata.
BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla said that the board is still working on making a suitable schedule. He said that no decision has been taken on IPL yet. BCCI officials are working on a solution. The BCCI Secretary, IPL Chairman are in talks with the franchises and everyone, so very soon we will know about the decision. Efforts are being made to resume the tournament as soon as possible.
IPL may resume from 16 or 17 May
According to the report, it has been learned that the IPL can be resumed from 16 or 17 May. The tournament will resume in Lucknow. It will be officially announced tomorrow (Monday). An IPL source said that the league will resume with a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Lucknow - this match was to be played on May 9 as per the pre-scheduled schedule.
No change in the venue for Qualifier One and Eliminator
He said that most likely the matches will be held at four venues and Delhi and Dharamsala will not get to host more matches. All the equipment has already been removed from these venues. The source also said that there will be no change in the venue for Qualifier One and Eliminator which was to be hosted by Hyderabad but Kolkata may possibly miss out on hosting the final on June 1 as rain is forecast in the city on that day.
Final can be played in Ahmedabad
He said that no change has been made in the venues for the play-off stage yet but it seems that rain may affect the final to be held in Kolkata. In that case the final can be played in Ahmedabad.
