Maharashtra: What CM Devendra Fadnavis said about contesting civic elections together, made this announcement about Mahayuti alliance

As per the Supreme Court's decision, elections for Municipal Corporation, Nagar Palika, Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis will be held soon in the state. All the parties have started preparing for this. We will fight the upcoming municipal elections together as Mahayuti. Maharashtra Chief Minister

Devendra Fadnavis told that his government will try to conduct local body elections in the state on time and the Mahayuti alliance will fight this election together.

Constituent parties can contest independently

Devendra Fadnavis told reporters in Pune that the ruling parties of the Mahayuti alliance - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Ajit Pawar faction and Shiv Sena Shinde faction will fight together wherever possible. He said that where consensus is not reached on the distribution of seats, the constituent parties can contest the elections independently.

The Chief Minister stressed that the allies of the Mahayuti will avoid criticizing each other during the election campaign. Devendra Fadnavis said, "We will try to conduct the civic elections in the state on time. If the monsoon is more intense in some areas, we will ask the Election Commission for an extension of 15-20 days if needed."

The Supreme Court has cleared the way for local body elections in Maharashtra, which have been stalled for more than five years due to the OBC reservation issue. The court had ordered the State Election Commission to issue its notification in four weeks. Devendra Fadnavis said that the Mahayuti will contest the civic elections as a united organization, which is being considered as a small assembly election.

Alliance partners will not criticize each other

He said that if it happens as an exception that we have to contest the elections alone, then we will do so. However, we will ensure that the alliance partners do not criticize each other during the election campaign. Our emphasis will mainly be on fighting the local body elections together as a Mahayuti. Devendra Fadnavis was in Pune to attend a workshop of Municipal Commissioners and Chief Officers of Municipal Council.

Lawrence Bishnoi's poster surfaced during an event organized in the presence of Minister of State Gopichand Padalkar in Nashik. When asked about this, the Chief Minister said that instructions have been given to take action against those who display the pictures of jailed gangsters. Fadnavis said that the government will not allow the glorification of any gangster in the state.
