MP: Nine Grand Gateways to Be Constructed at Major Entry Points of Bhopal; CM Mohan Yadav Performs Bhumi Pujan for Bhoj-Narmada Dwar


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasised the importance of connecting the present and future generations with their glorious past and offering them a living experience of India’s rich cultural consciousness. He stated that the cultural gateways being constructed at the main entry points of cities in memory of great personalities will play a significant role in this direction. 

CM Yadav said the state government is committed to shaping a bright future for the youth by drawing inspiration from the illustrious past. The glorious legacy of Raja Bhoj and other eminent figures has been included in school curricula.

CM Mohan Yadav was addressing the public on the occasion of the Bhumi-Pujan (foundation ceremony) for the construction of the “Bhoj-Narmada Dwar” at Samardha on the Narmadapuram Road in Bhopal. During the event, he also virtually inaugurated the 10-megawatt solar power plant established by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation in Neemuch.

The event was graced by the presence of Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of Sports, Youth Welfare and Cooperation Vishwas Sarang, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backwards Classes and Minority Welfare Smt. Krishna Gaur, Bhopal Mayor, Smt. Malti Rai, Bhopal MP Shri Alok Sharma, and MLAs Shri Rameshwar Sharma and Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani.

CM noted that as the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal will serve as an expression of the region’s diverse culture and history. The nine grand gateways to be built on Bhopal’s major entry roads will depict significant historical and cultural references, including key pilgrimage sites along the banks of the River Narmada. He cited the Mahamrityunjay Dwar in Ujjain, which artistically presents the city's rich history and milestones across different eras.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Madhya Pradesh, is not only striving for self-reliance as a state but also aiming to make municipal corporations and councils self-sufficient. The establishment of a solar power plant by Bhopal Municipal Corporation in Neemuch is a strong step in that direction.

Bhopal Mayor, Smt. Malti Rai informed that the “Bhoj-Narmada Dwar” will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore. She added that electricity generated from the solar panels installed in Neemuch will be utilised for operating Bhopal’s water supply system.
