Operation Sindoor: After the Indian air strike on Pakistan, the country is on high alert. The Indian government has taken several precautionary measures. Air travel, schools and colleges have been affected.
The government has closed 27 airports in 7 states including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan till May 10. Now no flights will fly from here. Air India, Indigo, SpiceJet, Air India Express, Akasa Air and some foreign airlines have canceled 430 civilian flights. This is 3 percent of the total scheduled flights of the country. 147 flights have also been canceled in Pakistan.
These airports were closed
According to the information, 27 airports have been closed including Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot, Bhuntar, Shimla, Gaggal, Dharamshala, Kishangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mundra, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Kandla, Keshod, Bhuj, Gwalior and Hindon. All the airports are located near the Pakistan border. Operations of Gwalior Airport in MP and Hindon Airport in Uttar Pradesh have also been closed.
Delhi Airport issues advisory
Air India and Air India Express have announced full refund on ticket cancellation and discount on rescheduling to people associated with the military-armed forces. Delhi Airport issued an advisory saying that passengers should leave for the airport only after checking the status of the flight.
The airline said - all our representatives are actively assisting customers. Some cases may take longer. Please rest assured, we are deployed to assist you. Air India said that we are grateful for the selfless service and dedication of our military and defense personnel.
Schools closed in many areas
After the air strike, there is a high alert in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Government and private schools have been closed in Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Barmer districts of Rajasthan. CM Bhajanlal Sharma has given instructions to cancel all leaves of policemen and increase border security.
The Punjab government has closed schools in Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran districts indefinitely. All leaves of Punjab Police have been cancelled. The Punjab government has also postponed all public programs.
The Haryana government has cancelled the leaves of all the officers and employees of the Health Department.
