The central government has called an all-party meeting today i.e. Thursday at 11 am.
Meeting will be chaired by Rajnath Singh
The all-party meeting will be chaired by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will also be present in the meeting. During this, opposition leaders will be informed about the retaliatory action taken after the Pahalgam terrorist attack and future preparations.

Demand for PM Modi to attend the meeting
On the other hand, Congress expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will talk to all the parties and take them into confidence.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that this will be the first all-party meeting after 'Operation Sindoor'.
He told media, "We had demanded an all-party meeting on April 24. An all-party meeting was called on the same day. We had hoped that the Prime Minister would preside over it, but for some reason the Prime Minister was not present."
Jairam Ramesh said about the meeting to be held on May 8, "We hope that the Prime Minister presides over this meeting. We hope that PM Modi will talk to all the parties and take them into confidence."
Kharge, Rahul will attend
Jairam Ramesh told that Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will attend the all-party meeting. Congress has stopped all its scheduled programs. He said that Congress has given full support to the central government against terrorism and has stopped all the scheduled programs of the party including 'Samvidhan Bachao Rallies' in solidarity with the army.
