Rahul Gandhi to protest against ceasefire between India and Pakistan and Trump's role; what Pawan Khera, Jairam Ramesh, Chidambaram said?

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will protest against the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and the US interference in the matter. Rahul Gandhi has sought permission from Delhi Police to protest at Vijay Chowk. However, Delhi Police has not given him permission yet. The opposition parties are opposing the sudden ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Congress, SP, RJD and AAP have accused the Modi government of bowing down to Trump.

Congress targets PM

The Congress party has targeted Prime Minister Modi for not responding to Trump's claim in which the US President had said that he would play the role of a mediator to end the military deadlock between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Pawan Khera, Jairam Ramesh raised questions

Senior party leader Pawan Khera said in Indian culture, bargaining is not done with vermilion. Why is the government not officially responding to America?

Reacting to Trump's latest statement, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the Prime Minister did not say a word on the claims made by President Trump minutes before his address to the nation. Has India accepted US mediation? He asked whether India has agreed to hold talks with Pakistan at a neutral place?

Trump is an uninvited mediator: Chidambaram

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram termed Trump's statement in which he said that the US has played an important role in stopping hostilities between India and Pakistan as  unacceptable. He said that Trump is an uninvited mediator and the Indian government should clarify whether there is any truth in his claims. He also said that such international statements can spread confusion, so the government should talk openly.

Chidambaram also raised the question whether India has lost its aircraft or other military equipment during the recent Operation Sindoor. He said that the Air Force and Army officials have indirectly accepted the loss, but the official information about it has not been given to the Opposition and the public. He said that whatever may be the claims of Pakistan, the truth behind it is something else which India should share.
