News of a major accident is coming from Goa. A tragic accident took place on the night of Friday, May 02 during the Shri Lerai 'Jatra' organized in Shirgaon, Goa. It is being told that there was a sudden stampede in the Lerai temple, in which 7 people died and 69 people were seriously injured. The injured have been immediately admitted to Goa Medical College.
According to the information received, this accident happened when a large number of devotees had gathered in large numbers to participate in this traditional 'Jatra'. There was a sudden panic among the huge crowd, which resulted in a stampede. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical, while the other people injured in the stampede are currently out of danger.
CM Sawant met the injured
As soon as the information about the stampede was received, Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant reached the hospital where the injured were admitted and took stock of the situation. Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant visited North Goa District Hospital and Bicholim Hospital. During this, he met the injured and inquired about their treatment. Along with this, strict instructions have been given to the officials to provide necessary medical facilities.
PM condoles loss of lives
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today condoled the loss of lives due to a stampede in Shirgao, Goa.
