Why Prashant Kishor said nothing will happen with caste census

Political strategist and founder of Jan Suraj Party Prashant Kishor has given a statement regarding caste census.

He said, "There is no problem in any census and survey which gives better information about the society, but we saw from the caste census of Bihar that just doing the census will not bring about improvement in the country. The government will work on the findings that come out on the basis of the census, only then will there be improvement."

"When the census was done in Bihar, it was told that 94 lakh families are poor. They will be given two lakh rupees but till date they have not been given even a rupee, so what is the use of such a census. You will not become a scholar by buying a book. You will have to read and understand the book."

Cong and its allied parties opposed caste census when they wielded power for decades: Shah

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation in a post on X platform said PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has sent the message of his firm commitment to social equity and rights for every section of the society.

Amit Shah said, the Congress and its allied parties opposed caste enumeration when they wielded power for decades but made it their electoral plank when in opposition. This decision will empower all economically and socially disadvantaged sections, promote inclusion, and pave new paths for the progress of the underprivileged.
