An eyewitness of the Ahmedabad plane crash has told what the scene was like when the accident occurred.
An eyewitness told media, "I was sitting at home, suddenly there was a sound. Felt like an earthquake. There was a lot of smoke. I did not know that a plane had crashed. Then I came to know when I came here."
"When I came here, I saw that the plane had crashed and there were many bodies lying about there."
At the same time, BJP MLA Darshna Vaghela told, "I was sitting in my office here. There was an explosion. When I went there, I saw that the plane had crashed. There was a lot of smoke. The doctors' flat has suffered a lot of damage. We have rescued many doctors from there with the help of local workers."
In a statement issued by Air India, it has been informed that the plane crashed after takeoff. This plane was going from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick.
The flight took off from Ahmedabad at 1.38 pm with 242 passengers and crew members.
What lone survivor said?
There are reports of a British man surviving the Ahmedabad plane crash.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik told over the phone that a person has survived, who was on seat 11A of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. Malik said that the victim is "in the hospital and is undergoing treatment".
According to the list shared by the officials earlier, the name of the passenger sitting on seat 11A is Vishwas Kumar Ramesh and he is a British citizen.
According to media reports, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh also shared his boarding pass, which had his name and seat number 11A written on it.
According to the report, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh had said, "Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud sound and then the plane crashed. All this happened very quickly."
