FASTag New Rule 2025: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the launch of Fastag based annual pass from August 15 this year. The price of this pass will be Rs 3000.
This pass will be only for personal use cars, jeeps and vans. Gadkari said that after being activated, this pass will be valid for one year or 200 journeys, whichever is completed first.
To activate and renew this pass, a separate link will soon be made available on the 'Rajasthan Yatra' app and the official website of the National Highways Authority of India and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Gadkari said that this will make it possible to travel without interruption on national highways across the country.
Gadkari wrote on 'X' (formerly Twitter) that this initiative is being taken to ensure seamless and fast traffic on the national highways of India. This will not only reduce the congestion at the toll plaza but the speed of vehicles will also not be hampered.
Important step towards Digital India and Ease of Doing Travel
This step of the government is being considered an important step towards Digital India and Ease of Doing Travel. This will provide great relief to private vehicle owners and toll payment will be made simple, transparent and convenient through Fastag across the country.
This policy will address the long-standing concerns regarding toll plazas within a radius of 60 km and streamline toll payments through a single convenient transaction.
The Annual Pass policy is committed to providing faster, smoother and better travel experience to millions of private vehicle drivers by reducing waiting time, reducing congestion and eliminating disputes at toll plazas. Incidentally, the government had shelved an earlier proposal for a 'lifetime FASTag' that would cost Rs 30,000 but be valid for 15 years only.
