Meghalaya Police has taken Indore's transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi's wife Sonam Raghuvanshi into custody for murder in Shillong. Sonam was kept in Ghazipur's One Stop Center. She is being taken to Shillong.
Meanwhile, three accused Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput arrested from Indore in this case were produced in the court. The court has handed them over to the Meghalaya Police team on 7-day transit remand.
Indore's Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotia said that accused Anand Kurmi, arrested from Bina, could not reach Indore till Monday evening. He will be produced in court on Tuesday morning. After this, all four accused will be taken to Shillong by flight in the morning.
Sonam had reached a dhaba in Ghazipur, UP at 3 am late on Sunday night. The dhaba operator informed the police.
Meghalaya SIT Chief Herbert Piniyad Kharkongor said that the postmortem report revealed that Raja Raghuvanshi was attacked with a sharp weapon. He had two injuries on his head.
Meghalaya DGP Idashisha Nongrang said that his wife had hired professional killers to kill her husband.
However, Sonam's family has said that the daughter is innocent. Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife went missing from Sohra area of East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya on May 23. On June 2, Raja's body was found in a ditch, while the search for his wife Sonam was on.
