At the United Nations Security Council meeting on Saturday, China's envoy Fu Cong said that Israel has violated Iran's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, which China condemns.
He said that China is deeply concerned about the current situation, as it can have a negative impact on Iran's nuclear deal.
Fu Cong appealed to Israel to immediately stop all military action, so that the situation does not worsen further.
He said that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iran's right to peaceful use of nuclear energy should be fully respected.
"China opposes the intensification of contradictions and the expansion of conflicts, and is deeply concerned about the consequences that may be brought about by Israel's actions," Fu said at a meeting held by the UN Security Council on the Middle East situation on Friday.
China and Iran are close partners, especially in energy and development projects. In March, China invited the deputy foreign ministers of Iran and Russia to Beijing, where they discussed Iran's nuclear issue and demanded the lifting of sanctions imposed on it.
Stop tension and adopt the path of peace: Guterres
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appealed to Iran and Israel to 'stop tension and adopt the path of peace'.
He wrote on X, "Israel attacks Iran's nuclear sites, Iran fires missiles on Tel Aviv in retaliation. Now it is enough. The time has come to stop this. The path of peace and diplomacy should be adopted."
EU President Ursula von der Leyen said that she has talked to Israeli President Isaac Herzog on the whole matter.
She wrote on X, "I reiterate that Israel has the right to protect itself and its people. Along with this, it is also very important to maintain regional stability."
Ursula von der Leyen also said that she has appealed to both sides to exercise restraint and reduce tensions.
Israel attacked different places in Iran on Friday, after which Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation.
Since then, there has been a situation of tension between the two countries.
