US President Donald Trump has announced a 'complete' ceasefire between Israel and Iran on social media.
At present, there has been no official response from Israel on this announcement, but the Iranian Foreign Minister has said that if Israel stops attacks, they will also stop retaliation.
In his statement, Trump said that the war will officially end in the next 24 hours.
Trump said in the post, "This is a war that could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it did not and will never happen."
The US President has called this Israel-Iran conflict the '12 Day War'.
Iran attacks Israel with 4 ballistic missiles, 3 die
About 5 hours after Trump's ceasefire announcement, Iran has attacked Israel with 4 ballistic missiles. According to reports of Times of Israel, one missile fell on a building in Beersheba city. The medical team said that 3 people have died, while many have been injured.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had rejected the news of ceasefire with Israel. He said that no final ceasefire agreement has been reached with Israel yet. If Israel stops its attacks on Iranians, then Iran will also not attack.
No agreement on any ceasefire so far: Iran
Iran's Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi has said that if Israel stops its military operation, "we also have no intention of taking any kind of retaliation."
Saeed Abbas Araghchi posted on X that if Israel now stops its 'illegal aggression', then Iran also has 'no intention of continuing the response.'
He said, "So far there has been no agreement on any ceasefire or end of military operations. However, if the Israeli regime stops the attack by 4 am Iran time, then there will be no retaliation from our side either."
Araghchi said, "The final decision on ending our military operation will be taken later."
A senior US administration official told that both Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire.
According to media report,s Trump held direct talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel agreed that as long as Iran does not attack, they will maintain the ceasefire.
According to CBS, senior Iranian officials have also confirmed that Iran has agreed to the ceasefire.
A senior administration official said that US Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff held talks with Iranian officials through both direct and indirect means, after which the ceasefire became possible.
Republican Speaker Mike Johnson in the House of Representatives has reacted to Trump's ceasefire announcement. Johnson wrote on X, "Peace through strength."
