Israel-Iran War: What leaders of Democratic Party in America said about US attacks on Iran's nuclear sites; what Antonio Guterres said

Israel-Iran War: Many leaders of the Democratic Party in America have condemned the US attacks on Iran's nuclear sites.

Congress member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that this is a serious violation of the Constitution and Congress's war-related powers and this forms the basis for his (Trump's) impeachment.

She wrote on X, "He has taken such a step in haste, which can start a war that can trap us for a very long time."

Congress member Rashida Talib has also condemned these attacks. She called these attacks a gross violation of the US Constitution and appealed to Congress to intervene immediately.

She said, "We have seen where the endless war that lasted for decades in the Middle East on false claims of weapons of destruction leads us. We will not fall into that trap again."

Apart from this, another member of Congress, Jim McGovern, called this situation 'frenzy'.

He said, "Trump dropped bombs on Iran without the approval of Congress and dragged us into the war in the Middle East illegally. Have we not learned any lessons yet?"

Antonio Guterres reacts

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has reacted to the US attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities.

He wrote on his X account, "I am very concerned about the military action taken by the US against Iran today. This step can further increase tensions in a region that is already in a very delicate situation and is a direct threat to international peace and security."

"There is a growing fear that this conflict can quickly get out of control. This can cause huge losses to civilians, the entire region and the world."

Guterres has appealed to the member countries of the United Nations to prevent the situation from worsening further and to follow the UN Charter and international law.

He further wrote, "There is no military solution to this crisis. Diplomacy is the only way forward and peace is the only hope."
