Rath Yatra is going to begin on Friday in the famous Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, where Rath Yatras of Lord Jagannath will be taken out not only in Puri but in many parts of the country. The world's largest Rath Yatra is going to be taken out in Odisha, for which the phase of preparations will end today. A large number of devotees will be present to participate in the Jagannath Rath Yatra, for which the administration has made tight security arrangements.
According to the belief, Lord Jagannath goes to his aunt's house Gundicha temple once a year with his sister Subhadra and brother Balabhadra. Apart from Puri, the Rath Yatra is going to be grand in many places of the country today.
Rituals of Lord Jagannath started with Mangala Aarti
Worship rituals have started for Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha. Mangala Aarti and Shringar of Lord Jagannath was performed at 6 am. After the daily worship-traditions, the rituals of bringing the Lord out of the temple will begin at 9:30 am. After this, Balabhadra, sister Subhadra and Lord Jagannath will be seated in the chariot. According to the program of the Yatra, at 3 pm, Gajapati Divya Singh Dev of the Puri royal family will start the Rath Yatra by sweeping in front of the chariot with a gold broom.
There, with great joy, Lord Jagannath will go to Gundicha temple about 3 km away with Balabhadra and Subhadra. This Rath Yatra will last for a total of 12 days and will conclude on 8 July 2025 with Neeladri Vijay, many religious rituals, ceremonies and special programs are organized during this Rath Yatra.
Amit Shah and his family take part in rituals in Ahmedabad
Mangala Aarti was held in the morning at the temple located in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad. Home Minister Amit Shah and his family participated in it. During this, khichdi was offered to the Lord. The Rath Yatra started after 7 o'clock.
In Ahmedabad, the three idols of the Lord were seated on the chariot in the morning. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel started the Rath Yatra by performing the Pahind ritual. In this, a gold broom is placed in front of the chariot. The Lord will return to the temple at around 8:30 pm.
In Udaipur Lord goes out on a silver chariot
In Udaipur, Rajasthan, the Lord will go on a journey sitting on a chariot made of about 80 kg silver. Here, Mangala Aarti was held at 5 am in the Jagdish temple. After the daily worship and Abhishek, Shringar Aarti and Bhog will be offered at 10:30 am. After the circumambulation of the temple in the afternoon, the Rath Yatra will start at 3 pm. This Rath Yatra is of 7-8 kilometers. In this, the Lord leaves the temple and returns to the temple again.
