To provide Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based education to children in the Government Education for All (E.F.A.) schools in the state, Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board and Microsoft have signed an MoU.
Currently, in 53 selected government E.F.A. schools, the Artificial Intelligence curriculum has been started as a pilot project. This curriculum is helping students learn the latest technologies. Better results are being achieved in the field of education through this curriculum. Students will be able to get employment opportunities easily in the future. Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board is being operated under the School Education Department.
Curriculum started as a subject from class 8 to 12
This curriculum has been started as a subject from class 8 to 12. Its total duration is 240 hours. Last year, 1013 students in class 9, 694 students in class 10, and 266 students in class 11 were trained in AI technology. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes promoting AI technology among students in schools. Various software companies had time to time provided training in the EFA schools operated by Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board.
Curriculum also includes Python language
The Artificial Intelligence curriculum also includes the Python language, through which arrangements have been made to provide students with training in programming as well. Python language is a popular and versatile programming language. It is used for various purposes, such as web development, data science, machine learning and software development. It is a high-level, interpreted language, which means it does not need to be compiled and can be executed directly by an interpreter.
Emphasis on spread of vocational education
The New Education Policy 2020 clearly states that to promote vocational education, it will be necessary for educational institutions to search for such models and systems through innovation that can make students vocationally capable. According to the National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, more than 54 percent of India’s total population is below 25 years of age and more than 62 percent of the population is between 15 and 59 years of age.
According to the proportion of the population, India has the opportunity to become the world's largest skill-capital-rich country.
