MP: 34 Varieties Displayed at Mango Festival in Pachmarhi; CM Mohan Yadav Opens


Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the ‘Mango Festival’ on Tuesday in the Raj Bhavan premises of Pachmarhi. On this occasion, he tasted the ‘Mani Prabha’ and ‘Bombay Green’ varieties of mangoes. 

CM Dr. Yadav also tasted various indigenous mangoes showcased at the exhibition and appreciated the sweetness and flavour. He praised varieties such as Jumbo Kesar, Sundarja, Krishna Bhog, Langda, Gajariya, and Malda.

Deputy Chief Ministers Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla, along with Public Works Minister, Narmadapuram District In-charge Minister Rakesh Singh and Horticulture Minister Narayan Singh also relished the mangoes and praised the different varieties.

On this occasion, farmer Vijay Pal Singh from Narsinghpur presented a basket of assorted mangoes to CM Dr. Yadav. Mango grower Subhash Patel gifted him a copy of the book Yatharth Gita.



Mango Varieties Displayed at the Exhibition

The mango varieties exhibited during the “Mango Festival” at Raj Bhavan Pachmarhi included: Amrapali, Langda, Dussehri, Chausa, Tota Pari, Fazli, Bengal Pali, Turrapar, Shukar Guthli, Mishri, Hapus, Swarnprabha, Kala Pahad, Himsagar, Swarnarekha, Ratna, Kesar, Rukmini, Sabniya, Neelam, Sindhu, Jahangir, Pyari, Royal Misri, Jardalu, Sensation, Ras Bhandar, and Ram Kela.

Over 300 mango samples are on display at the festival, drawing the attention of farmers, the general public, and tourists alike. The festival will continue till June 4, 2025, and aims to promote mango diversity, provide a platform for progressive farmers, and encourage mango-based horticulture and food processing industries.
