Pakistan will play all their women's 50-over World Cup matches in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo when India hosts this year's tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Monday.
Pakistan's matches in the Women's Cricket World Cup-2025 will now be played in Sri Lanka instead of India.
"The venues for the knockouts are dependent on Pakistan qualifying as two alternative venues have been identified for one semifinal and the final," the ICC said.
India is hosting the Women's Cricket World Cup-2025 to be held from 30 September to 2 November this year. These matches will be held in India and Sri Lanka.
In India, these matches will be held in Bengaluru, Guwahati, Indore and Visakhapatnam, while in Sri Lanka these matches will be held in Colombo.
Pakistan will have seven group matches in Sri Lanka. These include its matches against India and England.
There will also be a semi-final in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan reaches the final, this match will also be held in Sri Lanka.
India had refused to play in Pakistan for Champions Trophy
India had refused to play in Pakistan for the men's Champions Trophy earlier this year. After this, the ICC introduced 'neutral venue' for tournaments organized by both the countries.
Pakistan's Home Minister had said in April that Pakistan's women's team would not go to India. Now India has to make arrangements as to where Pakistan's matches will be held.
India and Pakistan, who have not played a bilateral series since 2013, will play their matches in neutral venues when either country hosts an ICC event, the sport's global governing body had announced in December.
