More than 48 CM of rain was recorded in 36 hours till 6 pm on Tuesday in Surat city of Gujarat. Most of the city is in the grip of floods. Many societies were flooded. People were rescued through tractors.

During the heavy rains in Jaipur on Monday, a youth died in the Kartarpura drain located on Gopalpura bypass. The youth slipped and was swept away by the strong current. People said that there is no safety of any kind on the drain.
With the monsoon becoming active in north-western Rajasthan from June 26, rain is likely to intensify. Jaipur received more 77 MM of rain from 8 am to 5 pm on Tuesday.
