Bihar voter list revision: In Bihar, the Election Commission is getting the special voter list revised. However, the opposition is attacking the Election Commission as well as the central government over Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Now Tejashwi Yadav has made a disclosure regarding the voter list revision. He said in a press conference that there are a total of 7.90 crore voters in Bihar. If even 1 percent of these people are unable to submit the documents or their name is deleted from the voter list for some reason, then the total number will be 7.90 lakh. That is, about 8 lakh people will not be able to vote.
Taking a dig at the BJP, Tejashwi Yadav said that in 1 percent, 8 lakh people are being deprived of voting, but their intention is to exclude 4 to 5% people from the voter list. He alleged that the BJP is playing games in connivance with the Election Commission.
3251 voters will be cut from each assembly
The former Deputy CM said that he has shared a figure on social media X, in which he told that if 1 percent votes are cut, then the votes of 3251 voters will be cut from each assembly in 243 assembly seats of Bihar.
Seats with win-loss margin of less than 3 thousand votes
Tejashwi also shared the figures of win-loss in the last two elections. According to Tejashwi, in the 2015 assembly elections, there were a total of 15 seats where the margin of victory or defeat was less than 3 thousand votes and in the 2020 elections, there were a total of 35 seats where the margin of victory or defeat was less than 10 thousand votes.
'Yadav and minorities' votes are on target'
RJD leader Tejashwi said that the BJP is targeting specific seats through the Election Commission where the margin of victory or defeat was very narrow last year. He accused the BJP of attempting to divide votes under the pretext of selected booths, communities, and classes in these areas.
Tejashwi emphasized that they are vigilant and that their workers will reach out to every household to expose the BJP's intentions. He asserted that they will not allow democracy to be undermined in this manner, clearly indicating that the votes of Yadavs, Dalits, and minorities are being targeted by the BJP.
