Gopal Khemka Murder Case: A suspect Vikas linked to the murder of Bihar businessman Gopal Khemka was killed in an encounter in Patna City at 4 am on Tuesday.
The police had reached to interrogate him. Then he started firing. He was killed in retaliatory firing. As soon as the news of the encounter spread, a crowd of people gathered around.
The body of Vikas alias Raja has been sent to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
Vikas alias Raja lived in Malsalami area. Police sources said that Raja had given the weapon to shooter Umesh Yadav.
After getting information about the incident, senior officials, including SP and SSP, reached the spot. One pistol, bullet and shell have been recovered from the spot.
Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma said that his direct connection with the Khemka murder case has not been revealed.
Many cases were already registered against him. His name had come up in many murders. He was also a shooter.
Shooter Umesh alias Vijay was arrested earlier
Earlier, on Monday police arrested shooter Umesh alias Vijay from Malsalami area itself. He told that a contract was given to kill Khemka for Rs. 10 lakh. One lakh rupees was received in advance. Police has also recovered weapons from the Ganga bank area. Umesh Rai lived in Delhi under the name of Vijay.
When the SIT team reached Umesh's house, he had gone to school to pick up his child. Meanwhile, the police caught him.
He was rarely leaving the house. The police recovered the bike used in the incident from him, after which a pistol, 80 cartridges, two mobiles and one lakh cash were recovered from his house.
After arresting him, the police also detained a suspect from Patna Junction. On the information given by Umesh, the police and STF raided Udaygiri Apartment in Kotwali police station area in the Gopal Khemka murder case. 3 people have been detained from here.
