India lost the Lord's Test against England by 22 runs. With this, hosts England have taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
After the match, India captain Shubman Gill said, "I am proud of this team. Our team played brilliantly. England showed an aggressive attitude against the Indian batsmen. If there had been a fifty-run partnership in the beginning, things could have been easier for us."
Ravindra Jadeja scored the highest 61 runs for India in the second innings.
About Jadeja, Shubman Gill said, "Jadeja batted brilliantly and he made a good partnership with the lower order batsmen. We have played well in the series. Many times it is not visible from the scorecard of the series, but we have played well."
Rishabh Pant was run out after scoring 74 runs in the first innings. Referring to that, Shubman Gill said, "That was not good for us. If we had taken a lead of 80 or 100 runs in the first innings, the situation would have been better for us. Because we knew that batting on the last day on this pitch would not be that easy."
Gill further said, "He said, "Everything changed very quickly in the fourth innings. We could have played a little better in the last hour. And this morning England bowled with very clear plans."
The fourth Test of the series between the two teams will start in Manchester from July 23.
When asked whether Bumrah will play in that match or not, Shubman Gill replied, "You will get to know about it."
