MP: Ladli Bahnas Tie Rakhis to CM Mohan Yadav During Sawan; Every Sister Will Be Provided a Permanent House


Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Mohan Yadav said that Raksha Bandhan is an eternal bond of mutual affection between brothers and sisters, and where there is Rakhi, there must also be a brother's gift. Since Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 9th August, the state government will transfer an additional Rs. 250 as shagun to every Ladli Behna in the state before the festival. Thus, each Ladli Behna will receive Rs. 1,500 in August, including the regular monthly assistance.

Every Ladli Behna is provided a permanent house

Speaking at a state-level event in Nalwa Gram Panchayat of Ujjain district, Mohan Yadav said the government will not stop at financial aid but will also ensure that every Ladli Behna is provided a permanent house. The event marked the distribution of financial assistance to women under various welfare schemes.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister transferred Rs. 1,543.16 crore to 1.27 crore Ladli Behnas as the 26th installment under the Ladli Behna Yojana. He also transferred Rs. 46.34 crore in LPG refill subsidies to over 30 lakh women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and Rs. 340 crore in social security pensions to 56.74 lakh beneficiaries.

CM Dr. Yadav stated, "Our sisters are our pride and we will leave no stone unturned for their dignity and welfare". He announced that until Bhai Dooj (after Diwali), the government will increase the monthly financial aid from Rs. 1,250 to Rs. 1,500, and reiterated the state's resolve to gradually raise this amount to Rs. 3,000 per month.

4 Crore Permanent Homes Being Registered in Women’s Names

CM Dr. Yadav said the Central and State governments are fully committed to women’s empowerment. Over 4 crore permanent houses built under PM Awas Yojana are being registered in the names of women to secure their future.

The event began with lamp lighting and 'Kanya Pujan'. Women in large numbers tied Rakhis to the Chief Minister, expressing affection during the holy month of Shravan. A giant decorative Rakhi was also presented to him on behalf of all sisters.
