Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the efforts of Bhopal’s ‘Sakaratmak Soch’ team in the cleanliness campaign during his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat. He stated that the Swachhata Movement, which commenced on October 2, 2014, has now reached a significant milestone, with its impact visible across numerous cities in the country.
In Madhya Pradesh, the movement has transformed the landscape of several cities, including the capital, Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav praised the dedication of the women in the ‘Sakaratmak Soch’ team and urged all sections of society to join this spirit of positive thinking and collective effort.

Through Shramdaan (voluntary labour), the team has transformed 17 garbage-ridden parks into green, vibrant spaces. They have also created nurseries and mini forests, offering the community a new vision of urban cleanliness and environmental responsibility.

Children are now an integral part of the initiative, serving as Swachhata Ambassadors and administering pledges to uphold cleanliness in their communities. The team has also taken on the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness around various temples in the city. With growing support and new members joining regularly, Bhopal’s ‘Sakaratmak Soch’ team continues to inspire and lead by example.
Women members of the Bhopal team believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s encouragement will give the team new enthusiasm, and the cleanliness campaign in Bhopal can be given more momentum.
